Passport and Visa

Every foreign visitor entering Germany must have a valid passport. Visitors from visa required countries should apply to a German embassy office or diplomatic mission in their respective country.


The official language of Germany is German. However, many people may understand English. The official language at the AVEC’16 is English.

Currency Exchange and Credit Cards

Only Euros is acceptable at regular stores and restaurants. You can buy EUR at foreign exchange banks and other authorized money exchangers. Many hotels, restaurants and shops accept credit cards. The common credit cards in Germany are Mastercard and Visa. Other credit cards are accepted only limited.


In Germany, tips are common but not required. The amount of gratuity is up to you.


The temperature in Munich during September can vary from 5℃ to 25°C.


The voltage used throughout Germany is uniformly 230 volts, A.C. The frequency is 50 Hz. If you want to use your electric devices, it is therefore advised to purchase a plug adapter beforehand.
